Royal Ahold (Koninklijke Ahold) Project Manager.

Mr. Barata was assigned to build Five (5) New Construction projects & thirty seven (37) Total Remodeling / existing grocery stores in Argentina (store listing for details available below). Mr. Barata successfully completed the project in one (1) year – 2000.Total square footage – 657,000. Total project cost fifty million dollars.

Disco SA.Project Manager.

In 1997 Mr. Barata became responsible for the architectural design of all grocery stores of “Supermercados Disco”. He was responsible for creating a design concept that meets the requirements of the grocery stores Managers and provides a facility suitable to the required use. Mr. Barata met with and questioned the client [extensively] to ascertain all the requirements and nuances of the planned grocery stores. He dealt with local and federal jurisdictions about regulations and building codes.








Mr. Barata was responsible for complying with local planning and zoning laws, such as required setbacks, height limitations, parking requirements, transparency requirements (windows), and land use. Some established jurisdictions required adherence to design and historic preservation guidelines.


Euro Builders LLC.Developer & Construction Project Manager.

From 2001 to 2005, Mr. Barata led a group of international investors in the South Florida real estate business under the name “Euro Builders LLC”. As president and owner of Euro Builders LLC, Mr. Barata built and sold ten (10) luxury single family homes and one (1) multifamily home on both west and east Florida coasts. Sample projects include the single family home located at 7932 NW 164 Terrace, Miami – “Royal Oak” – 4500 square foot(2002); the single family home located at 8250 NW 154 Terrace, Miami – “Royal Palm”- 5500 square foot(2003); the single family home located at 2118 SW 26 Street, Cape Coral, Florida – 2100 square foot (2004); the single family home located at 2122 SW 26 Street, Cape Coral, Florida – 2100 square foot (2004), and the multifamily condominium located 8021 Harding Avenue, Miami Beach, Florida, 6500 SF, 5 (Five) Apartments Condominium Building. This project was sold to foreign investors in 2006 after the building permit was obtained.
Mr. Barata made the full architectural and engineering design for all houses and buildings, and obtained plans approval and building permits. He dealt with local and federal jurisdictions about regulations and building codes. Civic Construction, Florida , Project Manager.

Barcelona Condominiums (2217 NW 7th Street, Miami, FL) which is a twelve (12) story building with seventy two (72) affordable apartments and a total of 175,000sf and was a $10 million project.
As senior project manager, Mr. Barata was responsible for the building construction, building schedule, cost analysis and control, and risk analysis. Mr. Barata verified and ensured that fundamental building elements and systems are designed, installed and calibrated to operate as intended. Mr. Barata supervised and served as a Technical Manager and Project Manager and managed work of sub-consultants.
Mr. Barata was responsible for reporting and preparing Scopes of Work (SOW) by determining level of efforts and labor rates. This work also included travel costs, reproduction costs, subcontractor costs (survey, geotechnical, etc.). This includes solving project problems and working with various clients.

Mr. Barata performed quality control analysis on the projects relating to technical aspects, constructability (can the project be constructed with minimal change orders), bid-ability (will all contractors bidding on a set of plans and specifications make the same assumptions to give an apples-to-apples bid comparison), and economics (value engineering).

As group leader, Mr. Barata’s responsibilities included: project/program team compliance with contract terms; monitor subcontractors' progress, performance and compliance with contractual commitments; participate as necessary in contract dispute resolution and litigation concerning project/program performance, administration and other liability issues; review and approve sub-consultant and vendor invoices, and resolve payment disputes; monitor schedules, billing and reports; ensure appropriate charging of man-hours, costs and expenses to projects/programs; assist as necessary in obtaining payment from clients; resolve client disputes and adjusts billing records as required.
